Ingredients:
For the Meat Mixture:
1 lb ground beef (classic base)
Salt & pepper to taste (seasoning the meat)
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (pizzeria flavor)
2 cloves garlic, minced (flavor kick)
1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara (saucy goodness)
1/2 cup chopped pepperoni (old-school flavor!)
For the Topping:
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (melty top)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (cheesy punch)
Optional: red pepper flakes (if you like heat)
For the Base:
6 hamburger buns, English muffins, or thick sandwich bread slices (open-faced style)
Optional: butter for toasting
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment or foil.
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
Add garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and chopped pepperoni. Stir and cook for 1 minute.
Stir in pizza sauce and simmer for 3β4 minutes. Remove from heat.
Lay open buns or bread slices on the prepared sheet. Lightly toast if desired.
Spoon meat mixture generously onto each half.
Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
Bake for 8β10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Broil for 1β2 minutes for a golden top.
Serve hot with a side salad, fries, or a cold soda β itβs diner-style perfection!
